Workshop

We will explore and evaluate a number of approaches to crowdsourcing offered by different organisations. This will include process automation, file formats and tools for translators. At the end of this workshop, participants will:

• Have learnt about a number of crowdsourcing platforms;
• Be able to position these platforms in the overall context of crowdsourced translation;
• Have assessed how the platforms address the main issues around crowdsourced translation, i.e. control vs crowd dynamics, quality, and motivation;
• Have signed up to and used at least one of the crowdsourcing platforms currently available.
